Q: Where did you grow up, and where do you live now?
A: Growing up, I lived in New York, California, and Pennsylvania. I'm currently back in California, living in LA.
Q: What have you studied, and what are you doing now?
A: I studied Communication-Public Relations as an undergrad and also studied Fashion Marketing in graduate school. Right now I'm working a sales rep for a showroom in Downtown LA.
Q: Links to your style networks?
A: Instagram: @lcacheesecake
Q: How would you describe your personal style in 3-5 words?
A: Changes every day. A little bit of everything with classic, natural way to it.
Q: Where do you shop? Luxury or high street? New or vintage? Boutiques? Online?
A: VINTAGE AND SECOND HAND with some street style and a hint of high fashion to keep it on point.
Q: If you had $300 for a shopping spree, how many items would you buy?
A: SO MANY. Did I mention I love thrift stores??? Or, if there was something I've always wanted to invest in that's usually super out of my price range, I would maybe just buyer 1 or 2 items.
Q: Do you prefer street style fashion or runway fashion?
A: If I HAD to choose, I guess it would be street style! It's more for the people, about the people; and with that more personable and about character. But, I truly do think they're both just as important as the other.
Q: What do you splurge on? Skimp on?
A: I splurge on makeup and clothes every once and a while, but I skimp on accessories a lot. I really want to start investing in accessories more!! I always go to clothes first! Ha.
Q: When and how did you become interested in fashion, and where do you find your inspiration?
A: Fashion and I bonded when I went to my first secondhand shop in third grade. I was always turning previous owned clothes into new life forms, combining both new and old. I wore ties in elementary school, wore skirts over my pants in middle school and wore tank tops over collared shirts. I am always trying something different - never allowing myself to become stagnant as to who I am. I find inspiration wherever my heart leads me lol, but truly! It can be anything! I find most of my inspiration in vintage/secondhand shops though. Old things just have so much more character, with a story made by the person who wore it before. It's like sharing a moment in order to create a new one.
Q: Who are your favorite style icon(s)?
A: Rihanna naturally, Olson twins, Nicole Richie and Emma Roberts, Emma Watson, Underground IG Influencers.
Q: What are your favorite fashion blogs? Magazines?
A: My fave magazines are Elle, InStyle, Vogue and Marie Claire. I'm currently all about Marie Claire. I don't really follow any blogs, but I follower influencers and bloggers on social media.
Q: What do you love about fashion? Not love?
A: I love the spirit and beliefs of individuals that fashion expresses and connects with worldwide. I don't love that people sometimes use fashion only to build up their status.
Q: Your favorite designers & brands?
A: Mary Katrantzou, Stella McCartney and Band of Outsiders.. there's more.
Q: Do you follow fashion trends? Which ones?
A: I do.. I'm SUCH A FAN OF SOCKS RIGHT NOW. Socks make or break a look for me these days, personally. I'm also loving the move androgynous take on fashion because we already share a lot of similar clothing between genders: t-shirts, coats, hats, sweatshirts, etc.) So it's cool to see this trend being taken further. Sometimes I want to be something I'm not, and dress a bit more masculine to balance out being feminine - to show different ways of showing and being feminine
Q: Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?
A: Keep trends very subtle and use a limited amount; like two trends in one outfit at the most. Too many trends make you come off inauthentic. Wear what you feel, what your intuition tells you to stay true to you, you will always create your own unique moment and look that way. But you won't if just wear what's trending, or is already known for "looking cute". You'll just look like everyone else then, and we are not all the same - so add a little something out of the ordinary, because that's you!
Q: Which would you be best at? Worst at? (Stylist, Designer, Photographer, Buyer)
A: I think I would be the best at being a Stylist or Designer. I have good ideas but I don't know if I have the drawing skills to become a designer. Photography.. eh, I don't think so. And a buyer, maybe I would be good at! I'm definitely good at keeping up with trends and trend forecasting.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: Being a designer. I'm brushing up on my sewing skills these days. I collection happening soon in the near future :)
Q: What are your other interests? How do you spend your spare time?
A: Well, I also really enjoy eating cheesecake, hanging out with my boyfriend, seeing my family... I LOVE meeting new people and also reading, drawing, and singing in my spare time. Overall I just really love people and learning more about myself.
