Q: Where did you grow up, and where do you live now?
A: Melbourne, Australia!
Q: What have you studied, and what are you doing now?
A: Studying Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) and Law, also working as many hours as I can at my part time job to fund my spending habits!
Q: Links to your style networks?
A: Instagram: ainslieclare Tumblr: emmanuelleandsofie
Q: How would you describe your personal style in 3-5 words?
A: classic, minimalistic, monochromatic
Q: Where do you shop? Luxury or high street? New or vintage? Boutiques? Online?
A: High street and online,
Q: If you had $300 for a shopping spree, how many items would you buy?
A: Depends what I was lusting after at the time!
Q: Do you prefer street style fashion or runway fashion?
A: A bit of both! I like seeing runway pieces on the street because it's always so interesting how every person can style the same piece differently!
Q: What do you splurge on? Skimp on?
A: I justify making a splurge on items I know will travel with me for more than one season, and skimp on the items I know are trends and I'll get sick of in a few months!
Q: When and how did you become interested in fashion, and where do you find your inspiration?
A: I've always loved fashion and on weekends used to sit in the local bookshop and read all the books in the fashion section, nothing else! I fell in love with runway fashion at an early age but as my style has developed I am all about the street style! It just suits my lifestyle much better and is easier to adapt! I find my inspiration online (when I'm procrastinating studying!) and in the many coffee table books I have collected over the years! Even my 'fashion file' I made when I was 12 I still flip back through to spark new ideas!
Q: Who are your favorite style icon(s)?
A: My favourites who I have always idolised include Olivia Palermo (can I please have a Mr. Butler in my life?!) and Audrey Hepburn, but I'm also currently loving Gigi Hadid and everything she wears!
Q: What are your favorite fashion blogs? Magazines?
A: I love turning to Elle AUS for my luxury inspiration, and tumblr is a great place to see so many different styles in one place! Mariannan and Alexa Dagmar are two Finnish bloggers who I have adored for years! I try to not indulge in magazines during the semester as it is such a huge distraction so I find Pinterest to also be a great place to get my fashion fix!
Q: Your favorite designers & brands?
A:Balmain, Chanel, Toni Maticevski, Dion Lee, Sportsgirl (Australian High Street chain), Topshop, I'm very picky when it comes to brands I like and they have to impress me season upon season to keep my interest!
Q: Do you follow fashion trends? Which ones?
A: Depends whether I find them adaptable to my lifestyle!
Q: Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?
A: Personally, I don't like too much colour in outfits on myself, on others (Olivia Palermo) I can adore it. I like dressing to try and flatter my figure, and I think thats the rule that people have a curve or two need to follow! You can still follow trends and be fashionable while flattering yourself!
Q: Which would you be best at? Worst at? (Stylist, Designer, Photographer, Buyer)
A: I have always loved the thought of being a stylist or buyer, and have tried my hand at designer studying Fashion in high school loved the theory side rather than the technical! When it comes to photographer, my expertise doesn't extend much further than Instagram filters and FaceTune to blur out a bad skin day!
Q: What is your dream job?
A: I am currently studying Journalism and Law, so keeping my options open! Being a fashion journalist has always been a dream job of mine, but so has helping people and thats why I chose to study law! I think my dream job now would be to work in the legal department of a fashion house, getting the best of both worlds!
Q: What are your other interests? How do you spend your spare time?
A: I also love beauty, which goes hand in hand with fashion, but currently my spare time is quite limited with my studies! I love to travel, to immerse myself in another country's culture and fashion!
