A: I've had two blogs for several years now. My couture/editorial focused blog is at fashionception.tumblr.com, while my street style oriented blog is at accessoir-es.tumblr.com.
Q: How would you describe your personal style in 3-5 words?
A: Edge. Edge. Edge. Florence and the Machine.
Q: Where do you shop? Luxury or high street? New or vintage? Boutiques? Online?
A: Most of my shopping is done in high-end thrift stores; I love vintage designer clothing and the rush associated of getting them for a steal. My most recent designer steal was a three-piece Isaac Mizrahi suit. It is new with tags - valued at $1,140 American dollars. I got it for $20.
Q: If you had $300 for a shopping spree, how many items would you buy?
A: I would buy as little as possible. I rarely have that much to spend on one item, so I'd like to get something that is beautifully constructed and that will last forever.
Q: Do you prefer street style fashion or runway fashion?
A: Street style: you get a lot more perspective and ideas for your own outfits. I believe that a collective styling platform is more creative than just one designer's interpretation.
Q: What do you splurge on? Skimp on?
A: I try to skimp on everything. I usually don't buy items that are more than $60 American.
Q: Who are your favorite style icon(s)?
A: Iris Apfel. She's fearless.
Q: What do you love about fashion? Not love?
A: I love the beauty it fosters in everyday life. However, I hate the typical "fashpack" attitude that bolsters interpersonal competition and general hostility. Not cool.
Q: Your favorite designers & brands?
A: Giambattisa Valli, Marchesa, (Rad)arte, etc. Anything that is over-beaded is my scene.
Q: Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?
A: Try to keep colors and shapes consistent.
