J: I grew up in the Netherlands in a city called Leiden. This is a place where many students go to study, I call it "Little Amsterdam". I'm currently living in the lovely Amsterdam myself.
Q: What have you studied, and what are you doing now?
J: I'm currently studying at AMFI. The letters stand for Amsterdam Fashion Institute. At this amazing school I follow the course Fashion & Management. It's a place where designer, branders and managers are brought together.

Q: How would you describe your personal style in 3-5 words?
J: Urban Chic
Q: Where do you shop? Luxury or high street? New or vintage? Boutiques? Online?
J: I don't buy my clothes at exclusively one fashion chain. Sometimes (when I have the money) I invest in a quality piece. But I also buy clothes on the hight street and vintage shops like Episode. I do try to spent less money on fast fashion, since the working conditions in this chain are miserable.
Q: If you had $300 for a shopping spree, how many items would you buy?
J: I would buy an amazing pair of shoes.
Q: Do you prefer street style fashion or runway fashion?
J: Both are very important to me. From my viewpoint runway fashion is more like a work of art. The runway is where I get my inspiration from for assignments for my study. But street style is a source for me to get inspiration for my own style.
Q: When and how did you become interested in fashion, and where do you find your inspiration?
J: I have become interested in fashion from a very young age. I don't remember exactly how old I was, but I knew from the beginning that my dream job was to become a businesswoman in the fashion world. I've been stealing clothes from my mother since I was 10.
I get my inspiration from the streets, but also from magazines and websites. A great tip for all fashionlovers is to spend more time searching for design, art and architecture, besides ready to wear.

J: When you don't know what to wear, wear black. And never wear skin colored tights. (or white leggings ;))
