Q: Where did you grow up, and where do you live now?
A: Singapore, and Singapore.
Q: What have you studied, and what are you doing now?
A: I am currently an Apparel Design and Merchandising student, who is majoring in fashion design.
Q: Links to your style networks?
A: Instagram, Tumblr, and Twitter. I just follow a bunch of fashion people, and god damn do they have amazing content.
Q: How would you describe your personal style in 3-5 words?
A: Comfortable, Laid-back, Casual
Q: Where do you shop? Luxury or high street? New or vintage? Boutiques? Online?
A: I mostly shop in fast-fashion brands such as Zara and Topshop, but I also shop on a number of online stores such as Young Hungry Free, Pomelo, Runway Bandits. I do enjoy thrifting and getting a handful of surprises once in awhile, but the number of thrift shops in Singapore is low.
Q: If you had $300 for a shopping spree, how many items would you buy?
A: Oh. My. God. It really depends, to be honest.
Q: Do you prefer street style fashion or runway fashion?
A: I love both!
Q: What do you splurge on? Skimp on?
A: I splurge and skimp on the most unexpecting and random items. Some days, I would not want to spend more than SGD$15 on a dress, but other days, I look at the price tag and it screams a SGD$90 and I would say okay, let's do this.
Q: When and how did you become interested in fashion, and where do you find your inspiration?
A: I do not know when I become interested in fashion, but how I became interested in fashion was just a sudden spark that came like, 'Oh, I want to do fashion. I am interested in dressing myself up.' But I guess, you can say plainly I became interested in fashion for the very reason I want to dress myself up: I am vain. My inspiration mostly comes from runway, but even since I have been exposed to the fashion scene, I also take inspiration from the streets.
Q: Who are your favorite style icon(s)?
A: I don't have a muse, unfortunately.
Q: What are your favorite fashion blogs? Magazines?
A: Vogue is my go-to! But really, I love Style magazine too, and WGSN. WGSN is basically my fashion bible!
Q: What do you love about fashion? Not love?
A: I love how diverse it is, and how flexible it is. You can always dress it up, and tone it down, depending on what you match and pair the garments with. One thing I do not love about fashion is that fast fashion at this stage is really moving at the speed of light; too god damn fast and I can't catch up.
Q: Your favorite designers & brands?
A: Elie Saab, Dior, Givenchy, Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph & Russo! Love, love, love. Gimme some couture.
Q: Do you follow fashion trends? Which ones?
A: I would say I am more of a casual formal, if that makes any sense.
Q: Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?
A: Comfort, comfort, comfort!
Q: Which would you be best at? Worst at? (Stylist, Designer, Photographer, Buyer)
A: Well... I guess I would be the best at designing, and the worst probably either being a buyer or photographer. Or maybe even as a stylist. Damn, I have no idea what I am good at and what I am bad at.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: To be an established fashion designer!
Q: What are your other interests? How do you spend your spare time?
A: Sleep, and read. My spare time is spent lazing around on my couch, or in front of my laptop.
