I am a citizen of the world, always looking for something new to discover. Today I am settled in Florence, Italy, a city of eternal inspiration. I strongly believe in style being an expression of one's self, a message that is hardest to ignore, and that today to my pleasure is more visible than ever.

You can find out more about me reading this interview! Or even by contacting me directly via polina@sassique.com or following me on instagram @pollina01

Q: Where did you grow up, and where do you live now?

I was born in the most European city in Russia, Kaliningrad. I think that when I was little someone secretly gave me a traveler spirit vaccine, so I was always tempted to experience living abroad. So I did, and after 4 years living in Lithuania, I now find myself in my dream place - Florence, Italy.

Q: What is your dream job?

My dream job is Fashion Buyer for a concept boutique, maybe even for my own boutique. For me its a perfect combination of creative spirit and strategic thinking in one job.

Q: If you had $300 for a shopping spree, how many items would you buy?

Most likely very few, maybe one item only. Probably a pair of beautiful pumps& When shopping I always have my mothers voice in my head repeating the mantra quality not quantity, quality not quantity

Q: What 3 items must a woman have in her wardrobe?

A pair of beautiful high heeled pumps, my favorite Louboutin, a perfect fit white shirt (the best I found so fare were hiding at COS), and a killer cashmere camel coat, in my mind Max Mara.

Q: What is your favorite piece in your wardrobe? Least favorite?

My favorite piece is a white shirt. As Gianfranco Ferre said: In the lexicon of contemporary elegance, I like to think that the white shirt is a universal term that each woman may pronounce as she prefers&
An item that I still cannot puzzle in my wardrobe is a red vintage fur coat that I bought couple of years ago. It creates a brave look, but I am not sure it is me.

Q: Where do you shop? Luxury or high street? New or vintage? Boutiques? Online?

My choice for shoes and bags is mid-luxury, while for the apparel I go for high street. I believe that accessories are the corner stones of any look, and for me have to be a statement. While with apparel, I like to play with shapes, forms and variety, and I think that todays high street brands are great in providing that.
I am also a big fan of vintage, but my style cannot be defined as vintage, though I adore incorporating vintage pieces in modern looks. Italy is a great place for fashion vintage finds, here every week you find a vintage fair or a new vintage store opening. My favorite one is a big vintage fair in beautiful city on the south of Tuscany, Arezzo.
I am also always in search of small local boutiques with small collections of unique design items.
I think I can call myself a tangible shopper who greatly enjoys all the process of shopping. I guess online shopping has not become yet tangible enough for me. What I can buy online are accessories, or something that I already saw and tried in the store.

Q: What do you splurge on? Skimp on?

Shoes, bags and jewelry definite splurge temptations, while trendy apparel items are on skimp on list.

Q: How would you describe your personal style in 3-5 words?

At the edge: minimal but feminine, chic but street inspired, casual but with a twist.

Q: What would you never wear?

Loud and clear: crocs. Never.

Q: Who are your favorite designers?

Phoebe Philo for Celine, Alber Elbaz for Lanvin, Vika Gazinskaya, Alexander Terekhov, Stella McCartney, Christopher Kane, Dries Van Noten, Elie Tahari, Jil Sander, Miuccia Prada, Tom Ford, Valentino, The Row guided by Olsen twins.

Q: Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?

Long time ago I learned a three-color rule, which I break once in a while, but still try to follow. I like to play with the combination of the contradictions, but believe in keeping the symmetry of body shapes right.
