Q: Where did you grow up, and where do you live now?
A: I grew up in Arkansas, and I currently live in Memphis, Tennessee, home of the blues.

Q: What have you studied, and what are you doing now?
A: I just graduated with a degree in French (minor in Sociology), and now I am enjoying my job as a Visual Merchandiser and planning my next trip and/or move.

Q: Links to your style networks?
A: I've found that Pinterest is the best way to get style inspiration from all types of sources all at once.

Q: How would you describe your personal style in 3-5 words?
A: Simple, clean, monochromatic

Q: Where do you shop? Luxury or high street? New or vintage? Boutiques? Online?
A: I primarily shop at American Apparel (where I work!) because I get a great discount, and I want to support ethical manufacturing practices. Outside of American Apparel, I love shopping in vintage shops, thrift shops, and local boutiques (my favorite is finding a hole-in-the-wall boutique or thrift shop in a new city!).

Q: If you had $300 for a shopping spree, how many items would you buy?
A: I'm trying to focus my spending on ethically made, environmentally friendly, and sustainable quality items, so I would buy however many nice products I could get, regardless of the price.

Q: Do you prefer street style fashion or runway fashion?
A: Street style, all the way! Everyday people finding their own fashionable combinations of a multitude of styles is an art.

Q: What do you splurge on? Skimp on?
A: I tend to splurge on boots and jeans, because they are my favorite pieces and it's often tough to find those that are just right. I'll skimp on makeup and accessories, but I'm trying to raise the bar when it comes to my entire wardrobe.

Q: When and how did you become interested in fashion, and where do you find your inspiration?
A: Before anything else, my dream was to be a fashion designer. This was in kindergarten, so I guess I've always been interested in fashion. My inspiration comes from literally everything, but more than anything, it comes from cities and their people. Traveling makes such a huge difference in every aspect of one's life, but cultural styles are the most inspiring things in the world.

Q: Who are your favorite style icon(s)?
A: Mary Kate Olsen wins everything.

Q: What are your favorite fashion blogs? Magazines?
A: Blogs:
For Love and Lemons (http://www.forloveandlemons.com/blog)
Need Supply Co. (http://blog.needsupply.com/)
Free People (http://blog.freepeople.com/)

Magazines:
French Vogue
V Magazine
GQ
Nylon

Q: What do you love about fashion? Not love?
A: I love how malleable fashion is. Anyone can adopt any style, trend, or fad they wish, and anyone can look good with minimal effort. I don't love how rigidly fashion rules are presented and followed. "Wear this with this and then use the first color to accessorize, and add this exact purse and then your outfit will be perfect!" No...you can make it perfect without adhering to the step by step rules, it just takes some imagination.

Q: Your favorite designers & brands?
A: Steve Madden holds a special place in my heart, as he has provided me with far too many pairs of perfect boots, my one and only true love. I love Kimchi and Blue, American Apparel, Scotch & Soda, and so much more. However, finding a small, independently-owned boutique with an eclectic mix of styles is the best.

Q: Do you follow fashion trends? Which ones?
A: I typically don't follow fashion trends myself because I have found that I am most comfortable in classic pieces. Over the years, these trends have been my favorites: high-waisted skinny jeans; masculine, loose-fitted, low-crotch pants (http://lefashionimage.blogspot.com/2014/06/masculine-inspired-minimal-style.html); loafers; and cut-out pieces (or both! http://needsupply.com/kuri-pointed-derby.html).

Q: Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?
A: Simplicity is key. Break all the other rules.

Q: Which would you be best at? Worst at? (Stylist, Designer, Photographer, Buyer)
A: I think I would be worst as a Designer. I can successfully design in a few areas (visual design, web design, etc.), but fashion design is not my forte. I think I would be best as a Stylist, or maybe a Buyer...I don't know! I want to do them all, and I know I would be great at all of them if I had more experience. So I guess we'll see!

Q: What is your dream job?
A: There are too many things I want to do with my life for me to have one dream, much less one dream job. If I could be anyone, or live the life of anyone else, these would be my top choices: Anthony Bourdain, FKA Twigs, Annie Leibovitz.

Q: What are your other interests? How do you spend your spare time?
A: A lot of my spare time is spent trying to get the more mundane tasks in order so that I can mentally relax and focus on what is important. Lately I've been learning to plant herbs, as well as how to cook meals using those herbs. I also run regularly, and research places I want to visit next.
