Q: Where did you grow up, and where do you live now?
A: Michigan, USA!

Q: Do you prefer street style fashion or runway fashion?
A: Street fashion. I think street fashion is so creative and an expression of the pure joy of putting together a stellar look.

Q: When and how did you become interested in fashion, and where do you find your inspiration?
A: I have been interested in fashion for as long as I can remember. My mother says I wouldn't let her dress me in kindergarten because I didn't trust her style ability haha. From then on I wanted to be a fashion designer, which is an aspiration I had for as long as I can remember. I think I've always used style as self expression, so I like to find my inspiration from anywhere. Art and street style aesthetics are the sources I draw from the most.

Q: Who are your favorite style icon(s)?
A: Leandra Medine and Freddie Harrel!

Q: What are your favorite fashion blogs? Magazines?
A: Blogs: The Man Repeller and Freddie Harrel.
Magazines: W Magazine and VOGUE.

Q: What do you love about fashion? Not love?
A: There are so many things I love about fashion. I love that fashion is a reflection of self expression and an artifact of our cultural environment. I appreciate the keen attention that is paid to detail and quality in fashion, as is true in most art forms. I love that when we want it to, what we wear can be our own expression of an artistic vision. Fashion is art!
One thing I do not love about fashion is the exclusivity. I understand that in some respects, exclusivity is a necessity for the fashion industry, but I dislike that it gives the industry and fashion lovers the perception of being shallow or frivolous. That being said, I do believe that fashion is becoming more and more accessible.

Q: Your favorite designers & brands?
A: Rodarte and Valentino are my absolute favorites, but as far as brands that are even remotely in my current budget (haha), I would say Madewell, H&M, MANGO, and Zara.

Q: Do you follow fashion trends? Which ones?
A: This recent chic-bohemian trend is interesting, I dig it.

Q: Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?
A: I don't know if I would call them "rules". When putting an outfit together, I usually have some sort of concept in mind in the first place, so I try my best to have balance and harmony in my outfits.

Q: Which would you be best at? Worst at? (Stylist, Designer, Photographer, Buyer)
A: I think I would be the best at being a designer or a stylist. For as long as I can remember, I have always known exactly what I wanted to wear, but have always been disenchanted upon discovering that I either didn't own a certain crucial piece, or it didn't exist. I have an actively creative mind and I think I'd be good at turning concepts into physical representations.
I probably would not be the best buyer. I'd get so overwhelmed. I'd either be far too selective (if that's possible), or want to buy everything. I would accidentally turn the store I'm buying for into my personal closet.

Q: What is your dream job?
A: Honestly my dream job is anything I can be expressive and creative in, while also giving me platform to work with topics and issues that I'm passionate about. I love writing, so incorporating that as well. Particularly, I would love to be the editor of a fashion magazine, or a fashion designer.

Q: What are your other interests? How do you spend your spare time?
A: I'm passionate about social justice, which is something I plan to work toward for the rest of my life. I also read a lot, draw some, and drink quite a bit of tea.
