Q: Where did you grow up, and where do you live now?
A: For the last half of my life, I've spent it in Northeast Florida by the beach! Currently, I live in NYC for the moment where I intern in luxury fashion.

Q: What have you studied, and what are you doing now?
A: I currently study Marketing & Logistics and PR.

Q: Links to your style networks?
A: Follow my social media handles (all under @yes_itsjess)!

Q: How would you describe your personal style in 3-5 words?
A: Free-flowing, contemporary, slightly "hip" but not "hipster."

Q: Where do you shop? Luxury or high street? New or vintage? Boutiques? Online?
A: Mostly Zara, Free People, TopShop, BCBGeneration, and LA independent labels at reasonable price points. For jeans, I prefer 7 For All Mankind and J Brand. Nordstrom Rack is my goddess. I know, I sound pretty basic! I like to shop everywhere honestly. I don't care about the status of the brand but I look for quality, trends that are not too fleeting, and materials that stand apart from the rest. Clothing is somewhat of an investment to me! However, I still enjoy the vintage leather oxfords I bought at Long Island Thrift for $9 a couple months back!

Q: If you had $300 for a shopping spree, how many items would you buy?
A: How many? I'd say 3-6. I've learned too many lessons on impulsive buying. I like to do my research on what I want and need and which pieces combine both interests thoroughly. I really want some cute lace-up block wedges for on sale, that would probably set me back $89 somewhere in the city. Next, I'd buy an over-sized sleeveless blazer (hopefully in the $40-60ish price range in some sample sale or possibly the on-going Zara summer sale?). Afterwards, I'd invest in some Nike Air or New Balance street wear kicks. With what's left, I'd just go ahead and buy Dior Skin Foundation (since it's ultra-thin and breathable and I just ran out of my sample!).

Q: Do you prefer street style fashion or runway fashion?
A: Street style fashion ALL THE WAY. I hope you follow Stockholm Street Style.

Q: What do you splurge on? Skimp on?
A: SPLURGE: Jeans, Shoes, Go-To Bags, Lipsticks, Foundations, Primers. SKIMP: Anything with patterns, anything that will get lost immediately, and anything that will last only one season. My Policy: the monetary price (whether $5 or $200) of your investment should reflect how much use you get out of it (emotionally, in terms of wear-ability, comfort, work/school friendly, etc.). If you don't love it, don't buy it.

Q: When and how did you become interested in fashion, and where do you find your inspiration?
A: I've always been obsessive about buying contemporary brands 90% off. I guess that's the Chinese blood in me. Always trying to find the best deal. LOL. Other than my obsessiveness with finding the best materials and well constructed garments, I never truly knew much until my fashion related internships/partnerships and luxury retail part-time gig started. Though I stalk the main 50 or-so style bloggers, my inspiration is truly with those who can genuinely bring something new to the table. As I walk through the city, pass by FIT, or go strolling through Greenwhich or somewhere off Spring St., I'm consistently on the hunt for something mind-blowingly organic to fangirl over.

Q: Who are your favorite style icon(s)?
A: I think style first starts with the way you present yourself internally, then it more than often translates into your demeanor, then your clothing choices. I admire those with great humor. Man Repeller will always be amongst my faves.

Q: What are your favorite fashion blogs? Magazines?
A: I love following Cosmopolitan, Elle, and Who What Wear on social media and online. I also love love love le21eme!

Q: What do you love about fashion? Not love?
A: I love the variety of fashion, how clothing gets restructured and remastered continually, and how old trends get recycled into bigger and better versions. What I don't love: the sellout nature and its glorification (in terms of marketing and advertising). Also, no matter where you are, even in New York of all places, there is such a thing as basic. In this case it's "city basic." I'm trying my hardest to escape being a zara/h&m clone. May someone direct me to a great vintage shop/one of a kind boutique?

Q: Do you have any fashion rules when putting an outfit together?
A: Don't forget to look at yourself in a full length mirror.

Q: Which would you be best at? Worst at? (Stylist, Designer, Photographer, Buyer)
A: Best to Worst: (1) Buying (2) Styling (3) Photographing (4) Designing. Seriously, becoming a market director is a dream career of mine.

Q: What is your dream job?
A: Comedy Screen Play Writer/Producer. I basically want to be next generation's Mindy Kaling.

Q: What are your other interests? How do you spend your spare time?
A: I contribute to a lot of online journals from fashion to business to human interest to humor related.
